Bradford Breaks Record As Warriors Place 3rd

NORTHFIELD, MN -- Jennifer Bradford broke the Winona State University record in the 600-meter dash and the Warriors went to place third in the Carleton Quadrangular.
Bradford came in second in the 600 with a time of 1:39.14, which was a full second better than the previous record. That effort led the Warriors to a total of 141.5 points, even points out of second place.
Chelsey Brown had another outstanding meet for WSU, winning both the shot put (40-5) and the weight throw (50-10 3/4). The other WSU first-place finishes went to Nikki Olson (55-meter dash, :07.62), Jess Devine (55-meter hurdles, :08.58) and Nicci Johnson (200-meter dash :26.34).
Adding to the winning efforts of the Warriors was the distance medley relay team that was clocked in 13:02.41.
Beside Bradford placing second, the Warriors also to come in second were Emily Asuncion (55 hurdles, :08.81), Lisa Meyer (400-meter dash, 1:00.25), Madie Heinrich (5,000-meter run, 19:37.03) and Kale Johnson (high jump, 5-1 1/4).
Olson also placed third in the 200 (:26.6), while teammates Beth Braun (400, 1:01.34), Michelle Schreiner (600, 1:40.36) and Rebecca Stier (shot put, 40-2 1/4) also came in third.
