WSU Sets Distance Medley Relay Record

BEMIDJI, MN -- Winona State University set a school record in the distance medley relay in the first day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Warrior quartet of Allie Glasbrenner, Jennifer Bradford, Michelle Schreiner and Jenna Southworth turned in a time of 12:34.45 in placing third in the championship relay. That effort shaved off :08.53 seconds from the Warrior record set in 1993.
Also scoring points for the Warriors, who were in sixth place with 11 points, was Michelle Schultze, who came in sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 49-4 1/2.
WSU also had a number of individuals advance to the championship finals. Jess Devine advanced in both the 55-meter dash and 55-meter hurdles. Devine was joined by Lindsey Derby in the 55 dash and Emily Asuncion in the 55 hurdles. Also advancing was Nikki Olson and Nicole Johnson in the 200-meter dash and Kelly Milkent and Lisa Meyer in the 400-meter dash.
