Warriors Split Tournament Matches

ALAMOSA, CO -- Winona State University split its final two matches to finish with a 3-1 record in the Best Western Alamosa Inn/Grizzly Volleyball Classic.

The Warriors opened the day with a 3-1 loss to Western New Mexico University and then posted a 3-0 win over Dixie State College, UT.

The Warriors defeated Dixie State by scores of 30-16, 30-28 and 31-29. Carmen Stankowski had 19 kills against DSC, while Susan Clausen came up with 49 assists and Rudi Balich and Crystal Otte finished with 23 and 12 digs respectively.

In the match with Western New Mexico, the Warriors dropped three games by scores of 30-12, 30-24 and 30-25.

Kim Nemcek led the Warriors with 11 kills and Susan Clausen came up with 23 asssits.

Rudi Balich added 12 digs for WSU and Kiersten Arendt posted three total blocks.
