Warriors Tripped Up In Home Opener

Susan Clausen WINONA, MN -- Winona State University got off to a slow start and lost to the University of South Dakota 3-1 in the Warriors' home opener.

The Warriors scored only 12 and 14 points respectively in the first two games. Then in Game Three WSU bounced back a little for a 30-23. The rally continued into the fourth game, but USD held off the Warriors and WSU lost the final game 30-23.

Carmen Stankowski led the Warriors with 11 kills and Jenna Padley totaled ten. Susan Clausen registered 39 assists, while Rudi Balich posted 19 digs and Stankowski came up with 15. Padley led the blocking efforts for WSU with three total blocks.
