Warriors Trim Wildcats

Jenna Padely WAYNE, NE -- Winona State University lost the first game but then came roaring back to win the next three games and defeated Wayne State College 3-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.

The win snapped a four-match losing streak of the Warriors, as they won games by counts of 30-22, 30-25 and 32-30. Wayne State started the contest by winning 30-25.

The Warriors finished with four players in double-figure kills, led by the 18 from Jenna Padley. Carmen Stankowski and Kim Nemcek each recorded 11 and Kiersten Arendt totaled 10.

Lisa Dobie directed the WSU offense with 55 assists, while Rudi Balich led the defense with 25 digs. Stankowski followed with 24 digs, Crystal Otte came up with 22 and Dobie and Mollie Bjelland tallied 16 and 14 digs respectively.

WSU also got six total blocks from Nemcek and Arendt.
