WSU Beats UW-Parkside In Three

Kerry Daly WINONA, MN -- Winona State University needed three games to defeat the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in nonconfidence play at McCown Gymnasium.

The Warriors opened with a 30-15 win and then fought back for a 32-30 victory before wrapping up the match with a 30-19 decision.

In the last seven matches WSU has gone 6-1 and won 18 of 23 games.

The Warriors also had a very good hitting night, coming up with a .452 percentage in Game One and adding a .359 effort in Game Three.

That was led in part by the attacking of Carmen Stankowski and Lisa Dobie. Stankowski came up with a team-high 17 kills on a .382 hitting percentage, while Dobie added seven kills on a .333 hitting effort. Dobie also contributed 37 assists.

Defensively, Rudi Balich had a team-high 16 digs, Crystal Otte totaled 11 digs and Dobie tallied ten digs. Dobie and Kiersten Arendt each had four total block.
