Ballard Reaches 300 Wins

Paisley Larson WINONA, MN --Winona State University Head Coach Scott Ballard saw his team really turn up the defensive screws in the first half as the Warriors roll to an 80-45 over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for coach Ballard's 300th collegiate career victory.

Ballard is in his 18th season at three different collegiate programs and now has compiled an overall record of 300-187.

The historic victory was set up in the first half when the Warriors held the Falcons to just 16 points and took a 35-16 halftime lead. From there WSU held UWRF to just 29 points in the second half, while adding another 45 points.

Natalie Gigler led the Warriors with 19 points, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots as all 12 WSU players to get into the game scored.

Jenny Steffen added 13 points for the Warriors and Molly Anderson came up with a different kind of double-double with ten rebounds and ten assists.

WSU controlled the boards 48-34.
