Warriors Use Streak To Win Another Game

Jamie Majerowicz WINONA, MN -- For the second game in a row Winona State University used a long unanswered scoring streak to come back and post a victory. This time it was 75-58 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory over Southwest Minnesota State University in McCown Gymnasium.

The Warriors scored 23 straight points in the second half to erase a, 15-point, 52-37, deficit and make it an, eight-point, 60-52 lead with 6:42 left in the game.

In the Warriors' previous game they used a 31-point unanswered streak to defeat the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Jenny Steffen sparked the Warriors with 14 points during the streak. Steffen netted four of her five three-point field goals scored in the second half and finished with 19 point -- all coming in the second half. Amanda Reimer added four points during the steak and Molly Anderson and Jamie Majerowicz scored three and two points respectively.

The Warriors then followed up with a 15-4 run to give them their biggest lead of the night at 75-56.

Reimer added 14 points to the WSU win and Kelsey Homewood came off the bench to net 12 points. Anderson grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for the Warriors.
