Warriors Clip Viterbo

WINONA, MN -- Winona State University put together a second half run in rolling to a 78-59 nonconference win over Viterbo University in McCown Gymnasium.
The Warriors had built a ten-point, 40-30, lead at halftime, but Viterbo came out to start the second half and scored the first eight points of the period to cut WSU's lead to two points. From there, though, the Warriors got back on track and outscored the VHawks 33-14 over the next 14 minutes and 21 seconds to reach its highest lead of the night at 73-52.
Natalie Gigler sparked the Warriors by coming off the bench to score 17 points. Molly Anderson led the starters with 12 points and Jenny Steffen also came off the bench to score in double figures with 11 points.
WSU outscored the VHawks 43-22 from the bench and had 17 points off the 17 turnovers Viterbo committed.
WSU held the edge on the boards 31-26.
