WSU Rocks Bemidji State; Wins 20th Game

Kelsey Homewood BEMIDJI, MN -- Winona State University burned Bemidji State University from the three-point field goal line and went on to roll to an 89-60 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory.

The win moved the Warriors closer to a home-court game in the upcoming NSIC Tournament and made this season's Warriors the first WSU women's team to post 20 wins in a season.

The Warriors connected on 15 of 26 shots from three-point range, as Kelsey Homewood lit up the nets for six three-pointers. Ana Wurtz had four from the three-point line and Jenny Steffen connected on another four three-pointers.

For the game, Steffen led the Warriors with 24 points, Homewood tossed in 18, Natalie Gigler came of the bench to net 15 and Wurtz finished with 12.

Molly Anderson contributed with her floor game, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists.

The Warriors led 42-35 at the halftime break and then exploded for 47 points in the second half, while shutting down the BSU offense for 25 points.
