Two More Added To Roster

WINONA, MN -- Winona State University head women’s basketball coach Scott Ballard has announced the signing of, point guard, Sadie Ewing of Verona, WI to a national letter of intent and that, forward, Natalie Taylor of DePere, WI will be transferring from Division I Southern Illinois University.
“Sadie will give us depth at the point-guard position and has the ability to pressure the ball on defense and push the ball in transition offense,” said Ballard. “She is a good athlete with toughness and a great work ethic.”
“Sadie is a great person,” added Ballard, “with a very good student who knows how to compete and win. She is a good fit with our style of play and we are excited about her decision to be a Warrior.”
Ewing’s older sister, Chelsey, is a three-year member of the WSU softball team, who just helped the Warriors to a second-place finish in the NCAA Division II North Central Region Tournament.
Taylor is a former prep teammate of current WSU player Jenny Steffen, who had transferred from Grand Valley State University, MI and led Division II in three-point shooting percentage in the 2007-08 Winona State season.
“Natalie is a great person, student and athlete to added to our team,” said Ballard of Taylor. “She has potential to be an impact player in out league. She knows how to work hard and win.”
“Natalie is a versatile and physical player,” continued Ballard. “She can play both forward positions and understands how to defend and rebound. We are excited to have her as part of our basketball family for the next four years.”
Winona State is a member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The Warriors are coming off a record season of team wins (21) and finished the year with a 21-9 record.

High school: Team complied 86-10 record in her prep career, Team won Wisconsin Division One title her sophomore season, All-State, Four-Time All-Conference, Team Captain Basketball; State medalist triple jump sophomore season, Team Captain Track and Field.
