Warriors Place 9th In Region Meet

KEARNEY, NE -- Winona State University's Jenna Southworth placed in the top 20 and the Warriors placed 9th out of 23 teams in the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.

Southworth turned in a time of 22:45.0 in the 6,000-meter race to help WSU total 301 points in the team competition. Individually, Southworth finished :35.9 seconds out of qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships.

WSU's Madeline Heinrich cracked the top 50, out of the 156 runners who competed in the event, by placing 46th in 23:29.2. Following her was Allie Glasbrenner in 68th (24:00.5), Stephanie Smith in 74th (24:18.5) and Michele Jeske in 97th (24:51.5)

Rounding out the Warrior finishes were Amy Pawelko in 119th (25:42.0) and Kelswey Stensland in 131st (26:12.3).
