Warriors Drop Opener

MENOMONIE, WI -- Winona State University opened its season with a 6-3 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

The Warriors picked up all their wins in singles play.

Heading the list was Heather Pierce at No. 1, who dropped her first set 6-0 before coming back to with 6-3, 10-8 wins. Amanda Asche then won at No. 3, 6-2, 7-6, and Erika Richae won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, for the Warriors at No. 4.
