Warriors Clipped By MSU Mankato

WINONA, MN -- Winona State University fell a match short, losing 5-4 to Minnesota State University Mankato in nonconference play at St. T's.

Heather Pierce led the Warriors with a couple of wins, teaming with Mary Hesterman to win at No. 1 doubles 8-3 and then winning at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Hesterman also made it a pair of wins for WSU by taking the No. 2 singles match in another straight-set match 6-4, 7-5.

The other victory for the Warriors came at No. 3 doubles where Kaycee Moore and Courtney Zinter won 8-3.
