Athletic Training Program Director/Chair - Department of Health, Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences: Shellie F. Nelson, Ed.D., ATC/R, Professor, has been at Winona State University since 1988. She served as the Head Athletic Trainer until 1995 and then assumed the role of Program Director. Prior to WSU, Shellie served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, the University of MN-Morris, and Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN. Shellie has a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Her dissertation is titled " Assessing Professional Behaviors of Atheltic Trainers". Shellie's Master's degree is in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and her Baccalaureate degree is from Winona State University.
Clinical Coordinator of Athletic Training Education: Brian Zeller , PhD, ATC, Associate Professor, joined the faculty at Winona State University in 2000. Brian has his Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of Kentucky. His dissertation is titled "Anatomical, EMG, Kinematic and Kinetic Differences of the Hip in Female and Male Athletes." Brian's Master's degree in Athletic Training is from Indiana State and his Baccalaureate degree in Athletic Training is from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Brian has both clinical and collegiate athletic training experience prior to coming to WSU.
Head Athletic Trainer: Stacey Czaplewski , M.Ed., ATC, Joint Appointment with Winona Health, has been at Winona State since 1998 and with Winona Health since 2000. Stacey is also an adjunct instructor for WSU. Stacey is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Leadership at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Stacey's Master's degree is from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN and her Baccalaureate degree is from Iowa State University.
Assistant Athletic Trainers: Brandon Donahue , MS, ATC is an employee of Winona Health and works with WSU students and athletes on a part-time basis. Brandon's Master's degree is in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training is from Winona State University. Brandon has worked with WSU since 2000.
Eric Crowley, ATC is entering his first year as an Assistant Athletc Trainer at WSU. Eric has completed his coursework towards a Master's Degree from AT Still University and his undergraduate degree is from Minnesota State University-Mankato. Prior to arriving at WSU Eric completed a full year internship with the Oakland Raiders over the 2008-09 season.
Kim Sieve, MS, ATC has been a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer at WSU since 2007. Kim completed her Master's Degree at Michigan State University. Her undergraduate degree is from Winona State University. While at Michigan State Kim worked with both Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country and Women's Field Hocky.
Shauna Hoff, MS, ATC is employeed by Winona Health and has worked at WSU since 2008. Shauna completed her undergraduate degree at Winona State University and her Master's Degree from the University of North Dakota. While at UND Shauna worked with Women's Soccer, Men's Basketball and Softball.

Ambjor Brown, M.Ed, ATC is the head athletic trainer at Saint Mary's University in Winona.
Bill Jacobs, MS, ATC is employed through Winona Heath and is the head athletic trainer at Winona Senior High School.
