Nelson, Ed.D., ATC/R,  Professor, has been at Winona State University since 1988.   She served as the Head Athletic Trainer until 1995 and then assumed the role of Program Director. Prior to WSU, Shellie served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, the University of MN-Morris, and Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN. Shellie has a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Her dissertation is titled " Assessing Professional Behaviors of Atheltic Trainers". Shellie's Master's degree is in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and her Baccalaureate degree is from Winona State University.  Co-Head Athletic Trainers: Brian Zeller , PhD, ATC/R, Assistant Professor, joined the faculty at Winona State University in 2001. Brian has his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky. Brian's Master's degree in Athletic Training is from Indiana State and his Baccalaureate degree in Athletic Training is from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Brian has both clinical and collegiate athletic training experience prior to coming to WSU.  Stacey Czaplewski , M.Ed., ATC/R, Joint Appointment with Community Memorial Hospital, has been at Winona State since 1998 and with CMH since 2000. Stacey is also an adjunct instructor for WSU. Stacey is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Leadership at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Stacey's Master's degree is from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN and her Baccalaureate degree is from Iowa State University. Assistant Athletic Trainer:s: Brandon Donahue , MS, ATC/R is an employee of Community Memorial Hospital and works with WSU students and athletes on a part-time basis. Brandon's Master's degree is in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training is from Winona State University. Brandon has worked with WSU for the past six years. Chandra Shirley, ATC/R is an employee of Community Memorial Hospital and works with WSU students and athletes on a part-time basis.  Chandra is primarily responsible for WSU Gymnastics..  Holly Dibert, MS, ATC/R is a new WSU hire in the Fall of 2004.  Holly's Master's Degree is from Iowa State University and her undergraduate degree is from WSU. Holly worked at Winona Sports Medicine and at Iowa State as a graduate assistant prior to returning to WSU.  Carrie Schultz, MS, ATC/R is a new WSU hire in the Fall of 2004.  Carrie completed her Master's Degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Her undergraduate degree is from MN State University, Mankato.  Carrie worked at Loras College in Iowa as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and as a graduate assistant with Creighton University prior to comming to WSU.  Approved Clinical Instructors (ACI) Kevin Logue , MS, ATC/R is the  head athletic trainer at Saint Mary's University in Winona. Kevin is a 1996 graduate of the athletic training program at WSU and received his Master's from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1999. Prior to his appointment at Saint Mary's, Kevin was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Southern Indiana. Lisa Deboer, ATC/R is the Assistant Athletic Trainer at SMU and is an ACI for WSU. Kevin Cappel , MS, PT, ATC/R, CSCS, is the Sports Medicine Coordinator for the certified athletic training staff employed through Community Memorial Hospital. Dennis McEntaffer, PT and Kevin are in private physical therapy practice at Sport & Spine Physical Therapy of Winona.  Kevin oversees the CMH employed athletic trainers and also fills in at WSU when necessary. Bill Jacobs , MS, ATC/R is employed through CMH and has been the head athletic trainer at Winona Senior High School for the past 10 years. JIll Messling, ATC is employed by Fransican Skemp in LaCrosse, WI and is the athletic trainer at Arcadia High School. Brandon Donahue, MS, ATC is the athletic trainer for Cotter High School in addition to his duties at WSU.
