Business Education Program Goals
The following major program goals are central to the missions of WSU and the College of Education:

To provide quality academic programs that prepare students for responsible professional careers in business education and training and development.

To provide cross-discipline studies for non-department majors to meet program requirements in such programs as Education; English; Health, Physical Education, and Recreation; Communication Studies; Women's Studies Program; Accounting; Management; Marketing; Management Information Systems; Health Administration; Production and Operations Management; and Business Administration.

To support the articulation agreements in the MNSCU system.

To contribute to the general education of all WSU students by offering courses specific to information literacy/skills, job search strategies, and personal economic literacy.

To provide the organizations of the region with in-service training, professional development seminars, and licensure courses for the continuing education needs of their employees.

To sustain quality undergraduate and graduate instruction which includes implementing the Seven Principles of Good Practice and providing partnership and mentoring opportunities through internship and student teaching experiences.

To support and actively encourage faculty and student research, scholarly activities, community service, and involvement in professional organizations.

To advance the understanding, sensitivity, and appreciations needed to maintain educational and business environments which are non-prejudicial, gender fair, and nondiscriminatory.

To develop a learning environment exemplifying ethical behavior, appreciation for diversity, and respect for alternative values and ideologies.
