Q: Are your services going to cost us money?
|
|
A: All of our services are free to registered WSU students and alumni.

Q: How would I set-up an appointment to see a career advisor? |

A: Call Career Services at 507-457-5878 or stop in at 314 Maxwell and request an appointment be set-up.

Q: I have no idea what to major in, what can I do? |
|
A: Take action! Join a student
club or organization, find an on or off-campus job or volunteer in your community. These things will help you learn more about who you are. Also, think about different careers or areas of study that interest you and learn more about them. Talk to professors in the program and professionals active in your field of interest, and take time to view a list of
websites providing in-depth information on a wide range of careers. You can also make an appointment to see a career advisor for a
Discover tutorial. Finding a suitable major or career is a goal worth pursuing and may require considerable effort on your part. |

Q: I do not qualify
for work study, are there other on-campus jobs available? |
|
A: Yes, Winona
State University also offers student-help positions that are available to all
WSU students. In these positions, you will earn a regular paycheck like you would at any other job. |

Q: How can I find out about on-campus jobs? |
|
A: On campus positions
are posted on our EZlink system. You can obtain a username and
password in Career Services, 314 Maxwell. After you login, there will be a link on the main page to
both work-study and student-help positions.

Q: What services do you offer if I need a local part-time job or internship? |
|
A: Our EZlink online job search system allows
you to search for those types of positions as well. You will also be able to search for
employer information and contacts. We have several books in our
resource library providing many state and national internship
opportunities. Career Services can increase your chance of obtaining those types of positions
through resume and cover letter critiques and with assistance on enhancing your interviewing skills. |
