Long-term volunteering involves committing a year or more to service work with a volunteer program that places you at a site by matching your skills with the needs of an underserved area.

Typically as a long-term volunteer you will also live in a community with other volunteers and sometimes with religious sisters, brothers, or priests.  There are national and international programs, faith-based and non faith-based, 1 year or 2 year commitments.  You will find long-term volunteer options to fit just about any field of work.  *There will also be organizations representing short-term local opportunities at the fair.
