Oral Presentation #E1 Educating and Supporting Field Site Supervisors Debra Eichman, Nicole Kirchner, Kristine Paulson

We are developing a curriculum to provide site supervisors of counseling field placements with orientation, assistance, consultation, and professional development opportunities related to supervision to enhance the education and placement experience for students. Pretests and posttests will be given via Qualtrics and will assess each site supervisor’s knowledge regarding supervision theory and intervention. An instrument measuring self-efficacy will also be utilized. Qualitative methods will be utilized to assess and describe the experiences of site supervisors as they participate in peer support as well as supervising students at their site. Following the completion of the first year, the methods utilized will be assessed and ideas for ways to improve supervision will be discussed. |
