Medical School Admission Requirements
The University of Minnesota recently greatly shortened its list of course prerequisites for admission. This notwithstanding, we feel that competitive applicants will have completed all of the prerequisites that are more typical of medical schools nationwide (including UW-Madison): four semesters of chemistry (212, 213, 340, 400), two semesters of biology (241, 242), two semesters of physics (221, 222), a semester of calculus (MATH 160), and a semester of statistics..

Premedical students should seek the advice of a pre-med advisor and should consult the catalogs of the medical schools of their choice for school-specific course requirements.
The Medical College Admission Test is also required for admission to most Medical Schools as is the completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree.
