Dr. Ornes is new to Winona State University and the Winona area. His most recent positions include Dean of Sciences at Southern Utah University (http://www.suu.edu/) and before that as Department Chair of Biology and Geology at the University of South Carolina Aiken Campus (http://www.usca.edu/). Dean Ornes’ teaching experience includes the secondary level (St. Louis, MO), undergraduate (USCA and SUU), and graduate levels (USC Columbia and SUU). Dean Ornes’ expertise relates to water pollution and cleanup. He has published approximately 40 peer-reviewed articles, many of which are co-authored with undergraduate students, and has received approximately 30 grants.
