Traditional Masters of Science in Ed., K-12

The recommended sequence for the required courses is as follows:

Required Courses (14-16 S.H.):

  • Education 600 Improvement of Instruction & Curriculum Planning (3)**
  • Education 675 Action Research: Assessment of Classroom Learning (3)**
  • Education 618 Field Experience in Classroom Procedures (2-4)


Completed under direction of advisor:

  • Education 623 Foundations of Education (3)*
  • Education 640 Current Education Issues (3)
    * Offered via ITV during odd numbered summers (05, 07, etc.)
    ** Offered via ITV during even numbered summers (04, 06, etc.)

Electives (16-18 S.H.):

The 16-18 elective credits enable admitted graduate students, in consultation with their graduate advisors, to meet their individual professional staff development needs and those of the schools where they are employed.

The 16-18 credits of electives for secondary candidates will include a minimum of 6 credits of graduate course work related to the content of their current licensure (Graduate Induction Program and Learning Community Program exempt).
