Master of Science
The Master of Science (MS) degree has three (3) requirements:
I. Complete 33 graduate credits
15 credits are the Education Leadership Core
18 credits are identified as part of a specialization. Each specialization designates required and elective options.
Up to 10 credits may be transferred into a WSU degree. See your program advisor for details.
II. Pass the Comprehensive Exam
This is a 3 hour experience in which you relate the concepts, theories and practices discussed in your courses to practical situations.
III. Complete the MS Capstone paper (either the Thesis or Non-Thesis option)
• The Thesis Option involves a more in-depth process of answering a research question including a more rigorous research design, original data collection and defending the thesis to a faculty committee. The thesis option requires taking an advisement course (EL 699) for three credits – which are included in the 33 credits for program completion.
• The Non-Thesis Option is a scholarly paper answering a research question oftentimes involving original data collection to the satisfaction of your capstone advisor.
