Training & Development Minor

The Training and Development minor prepares students for positions in both informal training roles as well as in formal employee training and development programs.

The skills and knowledge students gain in this program will help them in their future day-to-day leadership and management roles in a variety of industries, as well as open the door to become full-time trainers.

Since this program complements many different majors, the training and development course requirements are offered entirely online.

The Training and Development minor curriculum includes coursework in the following areas:

  • training theory and application
  • communications and relationships
  • human resources
  • adult and leadership education
  • current technology topics

These competency areas align with the standards established by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and Association for Talent Development (ATD).
