Faculty

Director – Dr. Holly Shi

    A former professor of English at WSU, Dr. Shi currently serves as the Interim Dean of International Studies and the Director of the ELC. She has been working at WSU since 1995 and has been involved in a wide range of campus activities and groups. 

Program Coordinator – Conan Kmiecik

    Conan is the program coordinator for the ELC.  He has been working with the program since it began.  He holds a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature and in TESOL.  In addition to his ELC teaching experience, he has taught freshmen composition, introductory literature, ESL writing, and freshmen orientation courses at WSU.

 ESL Specialist & Activity Coordinator – Katie Subra

   

Katie graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Master's Degree in ESL. Her teaching background includes teaching ESL at the University of Minnesota and volunteering at Adult Basic Education centers. She has been working at the ELC since August 2010 and is also in charge of planning activities for the ELC.

 

Instructors

The ELC is staffed by instructors who have earned Master's Degrees and by TESOL graduate students from the English Department.
