Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad: China 2004 Community Site

eLearning Lead: John Stafford     Faculty-Staff Lead: Dan Eastman

Started: December, 2004     Completed: March, 2005

Description: Funded by a Fulbright-Hays grant, a 19-member delegation of scholars including WSU's Dr. Dan Eastman (Residential College) visited Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian, Beijing, and Hong Kong from June 28th to August 1st, 2004. When he returned, Dr. Eastman wanted to help the group reflect on and share their experiences using a Website containing the materials gathered during the excursion, as well as syllabi developed as a result of the trip. Two specific art galleries, Chengduart and Red Gate were linked live and in archived form to show a snapshot of their work at the time of the China tour. The site included links to the delegates' own web pages and served for some time after the trip as a touch-stone for continued contact among delegates via a listserv and pages dedicated to extended projects.

eLearning developed the site and a corresponding CDROM which was distributed to each member and to the sponsoring agency, the National Committee on United States-China Relations.

Tools Used: Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop
