Co-moderated by eLearning and the Educational Foundations, Research, and Technology Department, this community is not just for instructors of fully online courses. It brings together those interested in discovering, creating, managing, and evaluating a wide variety of online learning activities for use in any instructional context. This includes:

  • Leveraging open educational resources

  • Developing engaging and reusable online content

  • Applying serious online games and simulations

  • Facilitating online communication and group work

Co-moderated by eLearning, Media Services, and the Faculty Development Committee, this community brings together those interested in using technology to engage students in active, experiential, and collaborative learning in both formal and informal learning spaces:

  • Leveraging laptops in the classroom

  • Facilitating independent and collaborative note-taking

  • Just-in-time teaching and classroom polling

  • Supporting collaborative and team activities in class

Moderated by eLearning, this community brings together those interested in exploring how technology can enhance and transform the way people coordinate, communicate, and collaborate in today's digital workplace. This includes:

  • Using familiar communication tools in new ways

  • Leveraging team portals and other Web-based services

  • Facilitating effective team meetings

  • Managing group projects

  • Building strong relationships and communities

Co-moderated by eLearning, the Office of Marketing and Communications, the Department of Computer Science, and Information Technology Services, this community brings together those engaged in improving and maintaining the university's public Web presence and services. This includes:

  • Maintaining departmental and college Web services

  • Serving prospective students and parents

  • Content management, usability, and accessibility

  • Writing for the Web effectively

  • New and emerging services for external audiences
