What's New? LessonBuilder
WSU has purchased a campus license for SoftChalk LessonBuilder, a versatile and simple authoring tool that instructors can use to create rich, interactive online learning content from scratch or using existing Microsoft Word documents. In addition to text and graphics, these online learning modules can include interactive exercises, quizzes, and other engaging elements.

Make Word Files Come Alive Online
Using LessonBuilder, WSU instructors can easily repurpose, enhance, and publish existing course materials online, converting Word documents into clean Web pages that can be edited in LessonBuilder's usable interface. Instructors with any level of Web authoring experience can then add interactive elements that highlight key concepts and engage students, such as text and quiz "poppers." The end result is a Web-ready learning module that can be posted to an instructor's course Website or imported into our course management system, Desire2Learn (D2L).

Create Reusable Learning Modules
One of the major benefits of LessonBuilder is that the resulting learning modules comply with SCORM elearning content standards. What this means is that they can be easily imported and reused in other SCORM-compliant applications, such as D2L. Instructors who use D2L can quickly import their LessonBuilder modules to any of their D2L courses, making them available to students alongside all of their other online course content and activities. More than simply a link to the content, LessonBuilder modules fit seamlessly into the D2L learning environment.
