Matthew Benson

B.S. Composite Materials Engineering, Winona State University
Matthew R. Benson is the Director of the Composite Materials Technology Center (COMTEC). He is a graduate of the Composite Materials Engineering Program at WSU, and returned to the department of engineering as COMTEC Director in the spring of 2003. Mr. Benson spent several years working in both the commercial and defense composite industries as a process engineer, manufacturing engineer, and program manager. He has a strong background in lean manufacturing techniques; having led multiple projects with large verified saving. Mr. Benson's primary research interest is in resin transfer molding (RTM) of large and complex structures.
