Fariborz Parsi
Professor

Ph.D., M.S., Chemical Engineering, University of South Carolina
B.S., Chemical Engineering, University of South Carolina

Fariborz Parsi is a Professor in the Composite Materials Engineering Program. He received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1990 from the University of South Carolina and has been on the faculty at WSU since 1991. Dr. Parsi’s dissertation focused on the effect of flow and curing of thermosets on the orientation of chopped fibers in simple shear flow. In this work, he developed a novel method to measure the two-dimensional orientation of chopped fibers in composite materials. Dr. Parsi’s research interests include polymer and composite processing, rheology of polymers and suspensions, and application of digital image processing in the analysis of heterogeneous materials.
