Preregistration advisement for
undergraduates typically occurs in the weeks following midsemester.
Advisors should post a list of available appointment times on their
office door. Advisees should come
to meetings with a current transcript, a course catalog, a “Personal Data
Form” (PDF), and a tentative schedule of courses.
Advisees will need their “Advisor Access Code”—which is available
to advisors only on WINTRANET
—to register. The codes should
not be given to anyone other than the student.
Faculty advising undergraduate majors should prepare to discuss students’ progress toward department goals during these sessions. Faculty should also discuss students’ portfolio progress and requirements. Faculty teaching sections of OR 100, Introduction to Higher Education, are typically assigned advisees by the Office of Advising.
