Gretchen Michlitsch comes to Winona State University from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned her M.A. in 1998 and her Ph.D. in 2005.

Her often interdisciplinary research is in multicultural American literature, breastfeeding and feminism, and science and literature.

Michlitsch’s scholarly work includes articles in Australian Feminist Studies and in Femspec. A native of western South Dakota, Michlitsch enjoys hiking, bicycling, cooking, and travel.
