Sesquicentennial Planning - Operational and Temporary

  1. Committee Charge:
         1.
    To plan and prepare for a year-long celebration of Winona State University's 
             sesquicentennial during the 2007-2008 academic year. 
         2.
    Include preparations for a Sesquicentennial Day to include inviting influential national
             and Minnesota public and private figures to campus;
         3.
    Publish a weekly "On this date at WSU" in the local media;
         4.
    Plan a series of events during the year (and perhaps the year before) to highlight WSU's
             contributions to the region and the nation;
         5.
    Schedule alumni reunions across the country;
         6.
    Write an updated history of WSU.
  2. The President will appoint the Chair.
  3. There is no formula for the term of office.
  4. The Administrator will call the first meeting.
  5. Composition: IFO President (or Designee) plus 7 IFO (at least 1 from Rochester), ASF President plus 2 ASF, AFSCME President plus 1 AFSCME, 1 MAPE, 1 Dean, 1 Coalition, 4 Faculty Emeriti, 2 Community members, Student Senate President plus 2 Students, 2 WSU Foundation members, 3 Alumni, Winona Daily News Publisher or Editor, Winona Post Publisher or Editor, 1 representative from area radio station, Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director or President, Executive Director of Winona Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Honorable Tim Penny, the Mayor of Winona, and the Vice President for Advancement. (5 Ex-Officio: 2 Development Representatives, Director of Alumni Relations, Advancement Staff)
