STUDENT APPEALS TO DISMISSAL
- PURPOSE: To describe'the procedures to be used in considering appeals from students dismissed from the University for academic reasons.
- METHODS OF ACCOMPLISHING HEARING OF APPEALS: Each student appeal for readmission to the University will follow the steps outlined below.
- As the designee of the President, the Vice President for Academic Affairs will receive requests from students to appeal their dismissal from the University for academic reasons. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will be responsible for assembling documents necessary to consider such appeals.
- The Vice President for Academic Affairs will refer these appeals and the related documents to the President of the Winona State University Faculty Association or his/her designee.
- The Winona State University Faculty Association will make recommendations on each appeal to the Vice President for Academic Affairs through the President of the Association or his/her designee in a timely fashion.
- The Vice President for Academic Affairs will then make the decision on each recommendation, informing the President of the Winona State Faculty Association and the students concerned.
This WSU regulation supersedes WSU Procedure 3-1, dated 12/01/76.
