Jim Meyer '85, Chair-Elect

Originally from LaCrescent, MN, Jim is a 1985 graduate of Winona State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Jim was also awarded the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award and the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key Award in his senior year at WSU.

Upon graduation, Jim accepted a position with Federated Insurance Companies in Owatonna, MN, where he has continued his career in a variety of technical and managerial roles. Jim assumed his current role as Vice President, Director of Field Operations – Underwriting in 2006.

Jim holds the professional designations of: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Underwriting, Associate in Premium Auditing, Certified Insurance Premium Auditor and has twice received the Award for Academic Excellence for attaining one of the top five scores in the U.S. on the exams leading to these designations.
                                                                                                                                                         
Jim has been a frequent visitor to the WSU campus, where he participated in class presentations, sporting events and campus activities. Jim also served on the WSU Alumni Board of Directors, and was honored to speak on behalf of WSU Alumni at the inauguration ceremony for Dr. Judith Ramaley in April 2006.
