Functions of the Program

The Global Studies Program is designed to serve all WSU students. Student participation can involve any of the following possibilities:

  1. Academic Degrees: Students may be interested in major and minor degree programs that are designed with an international focus. Consult  the Global Studies Office during fall semester to obtain information about these options.
  2. Co-Curricular Activities: The Global Studies Program sponsors or co-sponsors a number of activities that provide exposure to global / cultural issues. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many valuable learning experiences outside the classroom. Activities include conferences, speakers, panel discussions and presentations. Information on specific events is available through the GSP Office.
  3. Study Abroad: Students are encouraged to consider Study Abroad as a way of broadening their university experience and enhancing their resumes by including a living and learning experience in a foreign country. In addition to programs sponsored by WSU, students may select programs through other universities. For specific information, students should consult the Study Abroad section of the catalog or make an appointment with Dr. Linda D'Amico, 156 Lourdes Hall (453-2517).  Preliminary information is also available from the Student Answer Center in Kryzsko Commons (457-2472).

Students interested in any of these opportunities are encouraged to make an appointment with the GSP Director, Dr. Yogesh Grover, in Minne 122.
