Welcome to Grandparents University® Housing!![]() New Center West opened in fall 2010. The residence hall is located on Mark Street between Main & Huff Streets. All rooms are air conditioned suites with beautiful views of campus and the bluffs. Each floor has full kitchen facilities near lounge spaces with a large screen TV. Suites are designed as 2 bedroom/4 person units and 4 bedroom/4 person units with single bathroom in each suite. Please review this information before you contact us. We get many of the same questions, so chances are you'll find what you need online. What amenities does New Center West have?
New Center West provides free wireless Internet connections and a lounge with kitchen on each floor. Each suite has a bathroom. All bed linens, blankets, pillows, towels, and washcloths are stocked in each room. Accessibility suites are available.
Do the residence suites have refrigerators?
No. New Center West has a kitchen on each floor of the residence hall. If you have medicine or other health-related items that need to be refrigerated, please indicate this on your registration form and notify us in advance of arriving on campus. Special arrangements can easily be made if we receive advance notice.
What is the cost of staying at New Center West?
You have two options for staying at New Center West. You can stay one night or two.
We want to share a room with other family members.
Identify other family member names when registering and every effort will be made to accommodate your rooming request.
What is the latest we can check in on Thursday night?
Guests staying in New Center West must check-in by 10:00 pm.
Are meals provided if you stay in the residence hall?
Yes. 2 breakfast, 2 lunches and Warrior Picnic will be provided. Meals are provided with both Grandparents University options - whether you stay in the residence hall or choose to not stay. Meals are served in Jack Kane Dining, Kryzsko Commons. The Warrior Picnic will be outdoors, weather permitting.
Is there a discount if I don't stay in the residence halls?
Yes, the fee is $259.00 if you do not stay in the Residence Hall however, this program is designed to have participants engaged in the full campus experience which includes staying in the residence halls, eating meals in the cafeteria, attending various classes, etc. You are welcome to stay in a local hotel, however, you will still need to pay fees for registration and meals.
Can we purchase just the meal plan?Yes, we offer a meals-only plan for non-participating adults and/or children. The fee is $45.00 per person (adult or child). You will get meal tickets and will eat in Jack Kane Dining with other Grandparents University participant. What do I need to bring?
A list of packing items is available here. This list is based on recommendations from past camps participants and may help you best prepare for the 2-day experience. Specific details will be sent to all participants several weeks before the event.
