Important Notice -- Grants.gov Changing Submission System

Grants.gov, the federal grants application program, is moving to an Adobe system for electronic applications.  Applicants MUST use Adobe Reader 8.1.1.  Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional does NOT work. In fact, applications submitted using anything other than Adober Reader 8.1.1 will be rejected.

Unfortunately, there may be a compatibility problem if you have habe both Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional open on your computer.  Most users report there is not a problem as long as you make Reader 8.1.1 the default for opening PDF files and be sure you do not have Adobe Professional open when you are working on an application. To do so (on a PC running Windows XP),

You can test the default by opening any PDF file to verify it will be opened by the Adobe Reader 8.1.1. It is available at Adobe Reader 8.1.1.  During the grants.gov transition period, some applications will still require use of the PureEdge Viewer availalbe at PureEdge Viewer.  So far, WSU has not submitted an application in the Adobe format, so we are not sure if we will encounter difficulties. Plan on submitting your actual proposal well before the deadline to avoid electronic snafus.
