Campus Food Systems

Chartwells and WSU expressed a common interest in serving local food on campus when.the Campus Food Systems subcommittee held the 3rd Local Foods Expo in March 2009.    

Agroecology students in Biology 351, planted an herb garden behind Pasteur Hall for use by WSU dining services.

Several WSU employees are involved in a new gardening organization called Winona Community Garden Plots, which opened its first community garden in April.     

Food is the January 2010 Frozen River Film Festival theme. The President's Climate Commitment Education subcommittee and CERTS created a year-long 2010 sustainable foods emphasis on campus.  Michael Pollen, author of Omnivore's Dilemma will speak on campus on September 23rd at 7:30pm.  Free. Tickets are required.
