Transportation emits a significant amount of the carbon in the atmosphere. Commuting, flying, and importing food and other products into Minnesota all consume fossil fuels.
During Bike Week volunteers provided maintenance and repair for 150 bikes. A Bike Station for repairs and maintenance is now housed in the basement of Lucas Hall. It will open in 2009. These exciting projects keep all your bikes rolling.
WSU announces a new free resource for navigating the WSU campuses, the city of Winona and surrounding areas.Now in its pilot phase, the WSU Purple Bike Rental Program has seven bikes available at no cost to current students and employees. In 2007, Faculty and Staff travelled 1,605,788 air miles and Students travelled 767,918 air miles, related to campus projects. This contributed 1,844 metric tons of carbon dioxide to the current amount in the atmosphere.
