NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)

Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced education (generally a Master's Degree in Nursing) who can:

 

 

 

 

 

 

REGISTERED NURSE

Registered nurses in the WSU Health Service triage (or sort) everyone who comes into the health service.  Many illnesses (colds, sore throats, and influenza) can be managed by the nurses without referral to the MD or NP.  If referral is needed, they will set up appointments for that.  The nurses at the health service can also provide information, education and help students maintain a healthy life at college.
