Social Science/Teaching Program Mission Statement:

·         The SSHT program’s mission is to develop knowledgeable, reflective, and effective practitioners of Social Studies/History teaching.  Students will engage in a curriculum promoting an understanding of the global 21st century world, including cultural diversity, human interactions, historical change over time, human institutions, and civic engagement—all essential for coping with the present and planning for the future.
·         The SSHT curriculum will instruct students willing to engage in these skills necessary for the thoughtful reflection, planning, and decision-making qualities essential to instruct students in gaining their own understanding of the past, present, and future.
