Speaking Confidently: Addressing Students' Communication Apprehension

The Co-PIs will pilot a one-credit course (CMST 101: Speaking Confidently) during Fall 2012 that students can take alongside CMST 191 to learn speech anxiety-reduction techniques. The course will use a multi-dimensional model to address the cognitive and physiological nature of communication apprehension (CA).  This project will develop more consistent and integrated practices to meet students’ needs. The project includes training faculty and staff on best practices for coaching students with high CA.
