All University Writing Across the Curriculum Workshop

This project supports an all-day, all-university Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) workshop with WAC specialist Dr. Carol Rutz. The workshop covered the following aspects of writing instruction:
- Designing reader-friendly assignments that promote long-term thinking and revision of student’s self-chosen goals

Connecting upper-division and writing-intensive assignments to specific learning goals, student outcomes, and assessment needs

Using short and long writing assignments to spur student learning or to evaluate student comprehension

Using writing during class to enhance lecture-style, active, collaborative, or experiential learning

Grading and responding to students in a formative, not a summative, manner

Teaching discipline-specific reading practices
