What is the Honors program?

The University Honors Program is an opprtunity for qualified students to take a combination of honors courses within the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. Several departments offer separate honors programs. The honors programs are tailored for the abilities and interests of talented students and enhance the graduates' prospects for successful career placement and graduate school admission.

What is Admittance to the University with Distinction?

This recognition is given to Freshman who have been accepted to the University, who are in the top 15% of their high school graduating class, and who have attained an ACT composite score of at least 26. Students admitted to the University with distinction are NOT automatically enrolled in any of the honors programs.

What are Honors Courses?

Honors courses are specially created courses that offer smaller class sizes in order to allow ample opportunity for discussion and participation. Generally, three honors are offered each semester. Any student who receives permission may enroll in honors courses, but students who have been accepted into the program have priority when registering.
