Getting Ready to Move to Campus!

The following information will help make your move to Winona State University more enjoyable!

• Move in day is Tuesday, August 18th.
• Driving directions to campus can be found at the bottom of this page.

• Look for students, staff, faculty, and community volunteers who will be available to help you on move in day!  The Welcome Crew will be able to answer your questions and assist you with your move.  Watch for these volunteers wearing special t-shirts when you arrive on Tuesday, August 18th!

2009-2010 Housing Information

Once you have been accepted to Winona State University, you will receive a packet of information regarding on campus housing. This packet will be mailed to you within one week after you recieve your acceptance letter from the Admissions Office.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer housing to anyone who has not yet been accepted to the University.  

The following information  may be helpful to you as you prepare to reserve a space in our residence halls.

Important Dates to Remember:

December 1, 2008:  Deadline for roommate requests.

March 1, 2009:  Housing applications and the $250.00 prepayment must be postmarked by March 1, 2009 in order to gurantee a space wihtin the residence halls for 2009-2010.  Click here to apply for housing today!

April 30, 2009:  Room assignments will be available for students to view online.

May 1, 2009:  All cancellation requests must be received in writing, by the student no later than May 1, 2009 in order to receive a refund of the $200.00 prepayment.  Parents may not make cancellation requests for their son/daughter.  You may email cancellation requests to reslife@winona.edu.

July, 2009:  Meal plan information will be sent out to students.  

July, 2009:  Roommate information will be available for students to view online.

August 18, 2009:  Freshmen move in day!  Residence halls open at 9:00am.

August 24, 2009:  Classes begin.

Getting to Main Campus

From Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Take WI-93 South to Centerville, WI.  Turn right onto WI-35/WI-54/Great River Road. Turn left onto WI-54, crossing into MN.  Turn right onto 4th Street.  Turn left onto Huff Street.  Go a few blocks and campus will be on your left.

From the Minneapolis/St. Paul area

Take US-52 South toward Rochester, MN.  Merge onto I-90 East toward LaCrosse, WI.  Take the MN-43 North exit, EXIT 252, toward Winona, MN.  Turn left onto MN-43 North.  Turn left onto MN-43 North/Homer Road.  Turn left onto Hwy 61.  Turn right onto Huff Street.  Go a few blocks, cross the railroad tracks, and campus will be on your right.

From the Madison/Milwaukee area

Take I-94 West.  Merge onto I-90 West toward Tomah/LaCrosse, crossing into MN.  Merge onto US-14/US-61 North via EXIT 269 toward Winona.  Turn right onto Huff Street.  Go a few blocks, cross the railroad tracks, and campus will be on your right.

Getting to West Campus

From Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Take WI-93 South to Centerville, WI.  Turn right onto WI-35/WI-54/Great River Road. Turn left onto WI-54, crossing into MN.  Turn right onto 4th Street.  Turn left onto Huff Street.  Turn right onto Broadway/6th Street.  Go about 12 blocks and turn left on Gould Street.  Lourdes Hall will be about 2 blocks on your right.  Tau Center/Maria Hall are directly behind Lourdes Hall.

From the Minneapolis/St. Paul area

Take US-52 South toward Rochester, MN.  Merge onto I-90 East toward LaCrosse, WI.  Take the MN-43 North exit, EXIT 252, toward Winona, MN.  Turn left onto MN-43 North.  Go about 1-1 1/2 miles and turn right onto Vila Street.  Turn left on Howard/10th Street and right on Gould Street.  Lourdes hall will be on your left.  Tau Center/Maria Hall are directly behind Lourdes Hall.

Getting to East Lake

From Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Take WI-93 South to Centerville, WI.  Turn right onto WI-35/WI-54/Great River Road. Turn left onto WI-54, crossing into MN.  Turn left onto 4th Street.  Turn right onto Franklin Street.  Go about 7 blocks.  East Lake will be on your left, just after you cross the railroad tracks.

From the Minneapolis/St. Paul area

Take US-52 South toward Rochester, MN.  Merge onto I-90 East toward LaCrosse, WI.  Take the MN-43 North exit, EXIT 252, toward Winona, MN.  Turn left onto MN-43 North.  Turn left onto MN-43 North/Homer Road.  Go straight and continue on MN-43 North, about a mile.  Turn left onto MN-43 North/Sarnia Street.  Go a about .8 miles.  East Lake will be on your right.
