Alumni HouseThe Housing & Residence Life Department is happy to provide a warm and friendly place for alumni, parents, faculty and guests of the University to use while staying in Winona. There are four guests bedrooms on the second floor that sleep six people comfortably. Each room has bed(s), alarm clock and TV. The first floor, which is wheelchair accessible, has several amenities for guests to use during their stay such as a living room with a large flat screen TV, dining room, and kitchen. The first floor can also be reserved specifically for meetings and events for up to 25 people. The WSU Retiree Center is also located in the Alumni House on the first floor. How to Make a ReservationTo check availability or make a reservation, please email us at alumnihouse@winona.edu or call the Alumni House Coordinator at 507-457-2978. The Alumni House does not have a 24/7 desk operation, so if you are not able to reach the Alumni House Coordinator when you call, please leave a message and they will return your call as soon as possible. As the Alumni House becomes increasingly popular, we ask that reservations be made in advance. Peak times, such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, and Graduation Weekend fill up fast. Be sure to contact us to secure your reservation! We will attempt to honor all reservation requests however, same day requests may be difficult to accommodate because of short notice. Guests of the Alumni House must be affiliated with Winona State University. Rates are $25.00/person per night. Children at the house: Please note that we do not have equipment to accommodate the housing of young children and that the house is not child-proofed for their safety. For liability issues, we cannot allow guests under the age of 5. We apologize for the inconvenience. Overnight FacilitiesThere are four guest bedrooms on the second floor of the Alumni House. Rooms A and D have one, full-size bed, while rooms B and C have two twin-size beds. Rooms A and B have an adjoining bathroom. There is a common bathroom on 2nd floor for all guests to use as well. Each room consists of bed(s), closet, alarm clock and TV. Sheets, towels and washcloths are provided, however, guests are responsible for their own toiletries. There is no room service, however, there is staff in the Alumni House who can be contacted, if needed. With each room reservation, guests will receive one parking pass. Guest parking is available in the driveway. Overnight guests are welcome to use the first floor facilities (kitchen, dining room, living room with TV) during their stay. The first floor does need to be reserved separately from the guest bedrooms, so if there is an event going on during your stay, we ask that you are respectful to others using the facilities. If you would like to reserve the first floor facilities with your overnight request, please include that information in your initial reservation inquiry. Check-in begins at 2:00pm on week days and 5:00pm on weekends. Keys can be picked up at the front desk of Kirkland Hall (223 W Mark Street). If you arrive after 11pm (7pm on weekends), you will need to contact a staff member to get your key. Contact information will be posted at the entrance of Kirkland Hall. Check-out is by 11:00am; keys can be returned in drop box at the Alumni House. Meetings/EventsAny student club/organization, staff, faculty, retiree or alumni can request to use the first floor of the Alumni House for a meeting or small event. There is no fee if your group is associated with Winona State University to use the first floor. Contact us to check availability. All meeting or event guests must comply with the terms of the Alumni House. It is the responsibility of the event coordinator to communicate those terms to all those attending. There is parking available on the streets around the Alumni House. Driveway parking is for overnight guests only. Alumni House PoliciesThe Alumni House is property of Winona State University, therefore, all policies are applicable to Alumni House guests. WSU is an alcohol and tobacco free campus. Guests are free to use the kitchen, dining room, living room and computer in the kitchen. There is also an internet connection in each guest bedroom. There are no printing, faxing or copying capabilities for guests at the Alumni House. If using the kitchen facilities, guests are asked to wash the dishes and wipe down tables/counters after each use. Winona State University is not responsible for any lost or stolen items from the Alumni House. This includes anything that may be left behind by guests. Please keep your belongings in your room during your stay. |
