East Lake Apartments

The East Lake Apartments consist of four apartment buildings comprised of 100 units for more than 370 students. They offer the conveniences of an off-campus apartment with the security and relaxed environment of an on-campus residence hall.  The East Lake Apartments are co-ed however, males and females are not allowed to reside in the same apartment.

Students living at the East Lake Apartments can choose among the following types of apartments:
4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (4 people)
2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (4 people)
1 bedroom & 1 bathroom (2 people)
1 bedroom, efficiency & 1 bathroom (2 people)
Single apartments for just one person are NOT available.

There are two handicap accessible apartments available. Please contact the Housing & Residence Life Office for more information.

Returning student room sign-up for East Lake took place on November 28, 2012.  We are currently full for the 2013-2014 academic year but if you would like to be on a waiting list, contact the housing office at reslife@winona.edu or call 507-457-5305. 

The main sign-up process for the East Lake Apartments happens each fall. All upper-class students wishing to reside in the apartments have the ability to choose their own roommate(s). If there are any vacancies, Winona State University retains the right to fill them.

Students can choose between an 11 ½ month agreement, which includes summer (June 1 – May 15) or a 9 month academic year agreement (August 15 – May 15).

All policies that are in effect in the residence halls also apply to the East Lake Apartments.

Each apartment (common area and bedrooms) is fully furnished with a couch, chair, coffee table, two (2) end tables, trash and recycling bins, as well as an extra-long twin bed, desk, desk chair, dresser and bookshelf for each student. Each apartment has a complete kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and garbage disposal.

Other amenities include: washer and dryer; cable, telephone, and internet hook-ups in living room and bedrooms; central heat and air conditioning; all utilities paid except long distance phone calls; study lounges; on-site permit parking; shuttle transportation; WSU Security on site 12 hours/day; 24-hour controlled door access.
