Housing Application Process
Once you have been admitted to Winona State University, you will receive a packet of information on how to secure on-campus housing. This packet of information will arrive approximately 2 weeks after you've received your WSU admittance letter.
Agreement for Housing and Dining
The Agreement for Housing and Dining binds you to certain legal requirements. Be sure to review this agreement and contact our office if you have any questions.
Bed Lofting Information
Lofting your bed is one way to maximize the space in your residence hall room. There are two different type of lofts available, depending on what residence hall you live in. Please refer to our Loft Information page for more information or to request a loft extension kit.
We strongly encourage you to speak with your roommate about the option of lofting your beds. Typically, it is not advantageous for only one person to loft their bed.
Room Change Request
Room assignments are based on the date our office received your completed housing application, housing agreement, and $250 pre-payment. If you were not placed in one of the residence halls you listed as preferred on your housing application, that means those halls were to capacity by the time your application date was placed; therefore automatically assigning you to another residence hall that still had space available.
We will be accepting room change requests throughout the summer. If there is space available, we will do our best to accommodate your request. We will not accept room change requests after August 1st to give our office staff time to have everyone placed and prepare for your arrival. A room change request option will be available again starting Monday, September 9th here.
Canceling your Housing Agreement
Housing agreements for first-year students may be canceled and $200 of the $250 pre-payment will be refunded if the cancellation is received by July 1, 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year. Cancellations must be received in writing, from the admitted student, to notify our office of their cancelation.
March 1st – Complete application and $250 pre-payment ($50.00 is a non-refundable processing fee) is due in the Housing Office to guarantee your space in the residence halls. We begin receiving applications in October, so please apply early!
June 15th - Room Assignments and Roommate Information will be available for students to view online. The meal plan option is open to select a meal plan.
